Central Colorado Housing, a department of the Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments, is expanding its Mutual Self-Help Housing program to Lake County, with plans to build homes in Leadville,

In the Mutual Self-Help Housing program, a group of 4-10 families and individuals work together under the guidance of a CCH construction supervisor. By helping to build their own homes, participants can build equity, learn new skills and lower the overall cost of the home. The program is offered in partnership with USDA/Rural Development.

A representative from CCH will be available in Leadville on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.. The CCH’s Leadville office is located in the Tabor Grand, 711 Harrison Ave., Suite D2.

For information contact Sharon McKinsey, Leadville office, (719) 269-0825 or Ashley Rall, Cañon City office, at (719) 269-7687.
