It’s Silver Rush weekend in Leadville July 6 and 7, featuring two 50-mile races, one for runners and one for cyclists, both offered by the Leadville Race series.

Races begin at the bottom of Dutch Henry Hill.

The running race begins at 6 a.m. Saturday, followed by two new races, a 15.5-mile race starting at 8:30 a.m. and then a kids duathlon starting at noon. The latter will take place at the Colorado Mountain College soccer field and consists of both running and cycling the 2.5-mile course for a total of 5 miles.

Awards will be given out at 8 p.m.

On Sunday, the 50-mile bike race, wave 1, starts at 8 a.m. and wave 2 at 8:05 a.m. At 8:30 a.m., a 15-5-mile bike race will begin.

Awards will be presented at 4:30 p.m.

New this year at noon Sunday is a festival consisting of music, a beer garden and food.
