CMC is proud to present the 2019 edition of “The CMC Jazz Project,” a series of concerts this weekend: Saturday June 15, and Sunday June 16.

The first performance will be Saturday evening at 7 p.m. in Buena Vista at the Valley Fellowship Church auditorium, 608 South San Juan. Sunday will see the group performing at 3 p.m. at the Salida Steam Plant event center auditorium, 220 West Sackett Ave. in Salida.

Concerts are all free, with donations accepted at the door. All proceeds go directly to the support of the CMC Jazz Project.

This summer concert series will feature music from Don Ellis, music from the Count Basie Library, an arrangement of Steeley Dan’s hit “Black Cow,” and several arrangements by Colorado’s own Dan Cervone. Following a successful performance of “Big Band Dance Music” from the 1940s at the BV Heritage Museum’s WWII Gala Event, the band is excited to be bringing more jazz to the valley for audiences to enjoy.

The next event for the ensemble will be the Friday-night opening of the 2019 “Salida Jazz Festival” this August 23-25.
