Paul L. Runey, 31, of Leadville, formerly of Southlake, Texas, and Marshfield, Mass., died unexpectedly on Sept. 11.
He is survived by his parents George L. and Christine L. (Burbine) Runey of Bourne, Mass.; his brother Mike Runey, currently in the U.S. Peace Corps, Ukraine, and Mike Runey’s wife Helen Bjurstrom; his dog and constant companion Maggie; and his son, Aiden; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Runey was a graduate of New England Tech with a degree in web design. He loved the outdoors, boating and lobstering on Cape Cod, according to his family. He especially enjoyed cycling, camping, fishing, hiking and skiing in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. He was a huge fan of old funk and bluegrass music and loved attending live concerts. He was said to have a wonderful sense of humor that will be sorely missed.
A memorial mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 841 Shore Rd., Pocasset, Mass., on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. A reception will follow at Pocasset G.C., 24 Clubhouse Dr., Pocasset, Mass.
