Jean Marie Bauer, 69, of Nathrop, passed away on Thursday June 27, at Heart of The Rockies Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 29, 1949, to Donald and Helen (Ryan) Richardson.
Bauer married Scott Bauer on April 11, 1969. The couple moved to Colorado 37 years ago and to Nathrop 19 years ago. She enjoyed telemark skiing, cross country, mountain biking, and riding horses. She was an avid gardener, expert at wildflower identification, and was a dog and cat lover. She was the medical director for the first two years of the Leadville 100. She was also on the Leadville City Council for two terms.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Donald Richardson. She is survived by her husband, Scott Bauer of Nathrop; her son, Ian Bauer of Vail; brothers George (Connie), Bob (Lourdes) Phil (Mary Jo) and Jim (Barbara) Richardson; sisters Nancy, Marilyn (Dick), Barbara (John) and Patti (Bob); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
