Sherman Deveril Berry, 71, died Tuesday evening, March 29, at his home in Leadville.
He was born the son of William Sherman and Florence (Piercefield) Berry on June 2, 1939, in Jacksonville, Ill.
On June 3, 1962, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Katherine Millington at Mt. Zion, Ill. To this union were born three children.
Berry's family said he enjoyed hunting, fishing and living in the mountains. He was a member of the Greeley Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Florence Berry, Mt. Zion, Ill,; his wife of 48 years Elizabeth Katherine Berry, Leadville; son Stirling (Chandelle) Berry; Pomona, Calif.; daughters Suzanne (Mitch) Murphy, Buffalo, N.Y. and Marsha (Jon) Pupera, Genoa, Nebr.; grandchildren Samantha Murphy, Jenna Murphy and Claire Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Sherman Berry.
Services will be Thursday, April 7, 12:30 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, at staging area "B."
