John William Wilson, 75, of Buena Vista died Feb. 2, at his residence in Buena Vista, surrounded by his family.
Wilson was born July 2, 1932, in Neillsville, Wis., to Frank H. Wilson and Clara G. Markwardt (Wilson).
Wilson served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in the Korean - Japan War. Wilson was stationed at Camp Hale when discharged from the Army in December 1954.
He met the love of his life, Irene Bowman, in 1957, while working at Hocket Motors. They married on May 31, 1958, and soon a wonderful family began.
Wilson spent his working career doing mechanic work for Hockets, Bart Bertolas, Vincent Marcella and Tim Shinard in Leadville, until he retired in 1997. The couple moved to Buena Vista in 1991, where he enjoyed gardening and taking care of their yard. He loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends, and just spending time with his loving wife.
Survivors are sons Ronald (Patricia) Wrenfro of Leadville and David (Caroldean) Wilson of Buena Vista; daughters Lila (Art) Brossiett of Pasedena, Texas, Paula Neace of Kingsford, Okla., and Tina (Charlie) Campbell of Leadville.
Wilson was proceeded in death by his parents.

Memorial service was to be held at John and Irene Wilson's residence, 26710 CR 312, Buena Vista, on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m.
Private cremation was held.
