Mary Olive Jaramillo, 61, formerly of Leadville, died March 27, in Elko, Nev.
She was born in Alamosa on Oct. 1, 1950, to Jose Benancio and Flora Gomez. She was preceded in death by both parents and her brother, Chris Gomez.
She is survived by her husband, David A. Jaramillo, whom she married on Dec. 20, 1968, and their three daughters, Jackie (Christopher) Pappas, Bernadette (Clifton) Goodson and Petrolina Jaramillo; as well as her grandchildren Sergio Park, Jesse Park, Jasmine Duran, David Burden and Chloee Paulson; and her great-grandson McKale Williams.
She is also survived by her siblings Alonzo (Tina) Gomez, Barbara (Ralph) Garcia, Ben (Linda) Gomez, Gloria Marquez, Patricia Gomez, Joseph Gomez, Sally (Smellburt) Schneider, Arlene (John) Sandoval and all the Jaramillo family.
The Jaramillos lived in Leadville for a number of years while David Jaramillo worked at the Climax Mine and Olive Jaramillo worked at the middle-school cafeteria. All three daughters grew up in Leadville.
According to her family, Olive Jaramillo was an example of loyalty and integrity and a woman of strong faith who celebrated life at every opportunity, loved to dance and had a contagious sense of humor. She and her husband were known for their warmth and great parties.
Services were held in Elko.
