The Lake County Democratic Central Committee is offering a workshop on running for office next Thursday, June 13, at 6 p.m. at FREIGHT, 320 E. 9th St. Whether you are interested in running for office, helping someone else run for office, or just wondering how it all works, this will be informative for all.

We plan to address topics such as petitioning, getting on the ballot, and TRACER – the Secretary of State database on finances for candidates. We will also have previous and current elected officials available to answer questions. If you have thought about running for an elected position, but weren’t sure how to start, this would be a great opportunity to get up to speed. The City of Leadville mayoral and city council elections are coming up this fall. We will also cover topics for next year’s elections.

Everyone is welcome, and the workshop is free. However, we will accept donations. The LCDCC monthly meeting will follow directly afterward.
