The Leadville/Lake County Chamber of Commerce announces Bethany Maher as its new executive director.

Currently she serves as deputy city clerk.

Maher completed her undergraduate studies at Lyndon State College in Vermont, and has pursued continuing education in grant writing, leadership, and mediation. She has previously applied her talents and skills in the legal field, along with her most recent post as deputy city clerk of Leadville.

Maher will continue as deputy city clerk and start at 10 hours a week with the chamber, something that will likely change with time.

In describing Maher’s attributes. Carol Glenn, president of the Chamber Board of Directors,said she has proficiency in organization, grant writing, leadership, permitting and legal processes, and a singular aptitude for community relations.

“She is excited to get to work for Leadville businesses, to seek opportunities with the surrounding communities on joint initiatives, and to work very closely with the Lake County Tourism Panel, the EDC, and the Leadville Main Street program to strengthen the local economy and business environment,” Glenn said.

“She looks forward to direct contact with each of our member businesses and will reach out personally to introduce non-members to the work of the Chamber.
