The fate of Leadville Race Series’ (LRS) summer events remains uncertain. The first event of the nation-wide series, the Austin Rattler in Texas, originally scheduled for March 28, was postponed until November due to mandated restrictions on large gatherings.

“At this time, we believe it is too early to make any decisions regarding event cancellations or postponements for the remainder of our series,” the race series stated in a letter to past participants. If LRS decides to cancel or postpone an event, the race series will do so with a minimum four-week notice.

The first LRS event in Leadville is the Leadville Trail Marathon on June 13.

“The health and safety of our participants, volunteers, community and team members is our top priority,” LRS said in the letter. “It is absolutely our goal to continue to host all Leadville Race Series events, including training camps, in the safest possible manner.”

The race series also suggested that race participants who want to assist Leadville during the COVID-19 pandemic contact St. George’s Community Meals, the Lake County Community Disaster Relief Fund, or the LT100 Legacy Foundation.
