The barrier blocking access to Turquoise Lake road is moved aside and the gates are open to allow access for road clearing equipment.
Brad Palmer, Lake County Public Works Director, spots his path as he plows forward to clear the Turquoise Lake road. The road won’t be completely open for another two weeks or so, Palmer said.
Chains, which Palmer told the Herald weigh 1000 pounds each and require a crane to install, wrap the wheel loader’s tires and provide much-needed traction on the icy road around Turquoise Lake.
