Off-highway vehicles

A group of off-highway vehicles are parked on Leadville’s eastside.

Lake County is addressing off-highway vehicle (OHV) use concerns and developing a new ordinance draft based on community feedback.

Currently, OHVs are allowed on any county roads as long as users travel from point A to point B, meaning straight to their recreation destination. Some possibilities for the future are limiting commercial OHVs to certain areas or leaving county roads open but amping up enforcement.
