Dora Maria Esperanza Medina passed away on March 19 at her home in Littleton.
According to her family, Medina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Medina was the happiest when she had her family around her.
Medina worked in the billing department at a medical clinic in Leadville for 25 years.
Medina loved to cook her famous “stuffed sopapillas” and “homemade bread,” her family said. Medina always had time for others; she would crochet and sew blankets, send cards of encouragement and make weekly phone calls.
According to her family, Medina was a generous person; whoever came to her house to visit never left empty-handed. “She loved greatly and was loved by many and will be greatly missed,” Medina’s family said.
Medina is proceeded in death by her parents Daniel and Eutelia Garcia and brother Jose Garcia. She is survived by her spouse Vincent Medina; her siblings Teresa Duarte, Daniel and Edna Garcia and Angie and Lamar McCullough; her children George and Blanca Medina, Wanda Medina, Mike Medina and Sharon and Eddie Montelongo; her grandchildren Candice and Lucian Duran, George and Micale Medina, Brittany and Adam Perez; Mike and Richael Medina, Victoria Medina, Nicholas “Nikko” Medina, Samantha Montelongo, Joshua Montelongo and Eric Montelongo; her great-grandchildren Elijah Duran, Jacob Duran, Kyla Duran, Madysen Medina, Memphis Medina, Mckinzey Medina; Jayden Perez, Alexa Perez, Briella Perez, Andres Manzanares and Olivia Manzanares; and her godchildren Daniella Rodriguez and Lee Vasquez.
