Clorinda Chavez

On Tuesday, March 9, Clorinda Chavez passed away at the age of 95.

Chavez was born on February 10, 1926 in Antonito to Moises and Lupita (Armenta) Martinez. On December 26, 1955, she married Reuben A. Chavez.

They raised one daughter, Dolores, and two sons, Reggie and Michael. Chavez enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, word search puzzles, playing cards and listening to music.  She was known for her kind and compassionate spirit.

Chavez is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Reuben; her son Michael; her brothers Jose A., Joe Q. and Armando Martinez; and her sisters Eufelia (Fidel) Anaya and Benina (Joe) Jaramillo.

Chavez is survived by her daughter Dolores (Bob) Semsack; son Reggie Chavez; sister Berna (Juan) Ruybal; grandchildren Megan, Lindsey and Katie Chavez, Nicole and Matt Semsack; and great-granddaugters Wynter and Marlee Drollinger.

A funeral mass for Chavez will be held May 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leadville at 10 a.m.
