Robert Lee Warford

Robert Lee Warford of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away on Oct. 5 at the age of 87. He was born on Aug. 16, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of August and Dorothy Erisman Warford.

Warford married Sherrill D. Risk on April 7, 1962. He worked for the City of Leadville, beginning his career as a recruit patrolman and retiring as police chief.

Warford was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was recognized many times during his service. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Twin Lakes Gun Club of Mountain Home, and was scout master of Troop #69 in Leadville. He enjoyed shooting, fishing, metal detecting, working with youth groups and being with family.

Warford was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Warford is survived by his two sons Kerry (Sheryl) Warford of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Kevin (Helen) Warford of Colorado City; his two daughters Diane Quinn of Moab, Utah and Terri Edwards of Arizona; his grandchildren Kelson (Laura) Warford, Alex Warford, Kylie Warford, Ben Cato and Bailey Cato; and his great-grandchildren Kalem Warford, Rylan Warford and Emmy Warford.

A celebration of life will be held for Warford from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14 at the Ozark VFW Post #3246 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. The burial will be held at Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Mountain Home. Military honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and U.S. Air Force Honor Guards.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Twin Lakes Gun Club, P.O. Box 199, Mountain Home, AR 72653. All proceeds and donations will be used to fund the youth program at the club.
