Madalyn Videtich

Madalyn Videtich, 85, a lifelong resident of Leadville, passed away on October 19 in Frisco. She was born May 20, 1935, in Salida to Frank M. Marcella and Anna Tauzel. She married Edward J. Videtich on February 12, 1957 in Raton, New Mexico, and on February 22, 1957, in Leadville.

Videtich attended the St. Joseph School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at St. Vincent Hospital from 1957-1975. She then worked as a public health nurse from 1975-2007. She belonged to the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) and had many interests and hobbies including golfing, reading, polka dancing and skiing.  She loved Elvis Presley, playing Rumikub with her grandkids and spending time with her family.

Madalyn is survived by her children Michael (Jane) Videtich of Denver, Kevin (Mary) Videtich of Houston, Texas and Susan (Kyle) Welch of Leadville; grandchildren Robin Hensen, Amanda Videtich, Matthew Videtich, Brian Videtich, Jesse Kissell, Tess Welch and Chelsea Kissel Warne; great grandchildren Saren, Drake and Riley Hensen and Riggs Kissell, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, and her brother, Vincent Marcella.

A Memorial Service was held on October 24 at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leadville.  A reception followed at Leadville Elks Lodge, #236. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those wishing to leave a remembrance to donate to the local chapter of the PEO for their scholarship fund.
