Mary V. Gonzales, 63, of Leadville passed at her home surrounded by family on March 3 following a battle with cancer.
Gonzales was born in Leadville on November 15, 1957 to Alberto and Lucy Quintana. She graduated from Lake County High School.
Gonzales married Timmy Gonzales and became a mother. She worked at the Sayer-McKee Drug Store and Shopko, and was a cook at the Lake County Jail.
Gonzales loved to travel and visit Black Hawk. She loved her family and friends and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. “She was always willing to help everyone wherever she was,” her family said.
Gonzales was preceded in death by her parents Alberto and Lucy Quintana; Ted Martinez; Tony Chavez; and Mark Chaney.
Gonzales is survived by her husband Timmy Gonzales; Vanessa (Isaiah) Nygren; Stephanie (Ricky) Redfern; Cynthia Chaney; Evelyn Martinez; Carla (Mike) Jensen; Sophia Chavez; Chris (Patsy) Gonzales; Toby Gonzales; Ronnie (Tammy) Gonzales; Ricky (Maxine) Gonzales; Nick (Crystal) Gonzales; Shawn (Miranda) Gonzales; and 16 grandchildren.
There are no plans for a memorial service at this time.
