Gary Zadra

Gary Zadra, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 22 at Mission at Castle Rock Rehabilitation Center in Green River, Wyoming.

Zadra was born April 14, 1939 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to John Zadra and Mary Bergant. He lived in Superior, Wyoming until his family moved to Leadville in 1954. He attended school in Superior, and was a 1957 graduate of Lake County High School.

Zadra served in the U.S. Army during the Berlin Crisis.

He worked for Climax Molybdenum Company for 27 years and was a data processor at the time of his retirement in 1984. After his retirement from Climax Molybdenum, Zadra worked in the construction industry in the Denver area, and later was the building superintendent for the Christiania Lodge in Vail.

He returned to live in Superior in 2011.

Zadra’s interests included woodworking, hunting and fishing.

Zadra was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Zadra; his brother John Ross who died in infancy; and his sister Margo Johns.

Zadra is survived by his two sons Daniel Zadra and wife Michelle of Gunnison and Dennis Zadra and wife Alicia of Cordova, Alaska; his daughter Sally Zadra of Buford, Georgia; his brother Dennis Zadra and wife Annie of Wyoming; and his granddaughter Meghan Zadra of Colorado Springs.

Following cremation, a vigil service with rosary was held on Tuesday, June 29 at Vase Funeral Chapel in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Military honors, graveside services and inurnment were conducted the following day at Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
