Sharen Ann Clune

Sharen Ann Clune, 63, of Leadville passed away on April 18. Clune was born April 30, 1957 to William “Bill” and Jackie Best in Leadville where she lived her entire life.

As a child, Clune spent many wonderful summers in Salida with her family. After graduating from Lake County High School in 1975, she worked with her father Bill at Sayer-McKee Drug Store. Her favorite time of year was always Christmas. She really enjoyed wrapping gifts for customers during the holidays.

In 1976, Clune started working at Commercial Bank of Leadville, which became her lifelong career of 41 years. She loved helping people any way that she could. Clune built many wonderful friendships with her coworkers and customers throughout those years.

On June 2, 1984, Sharen married Kenneth Clune at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. They shared 36 wonderful years of marriage deeply rooted in their Catholic faith. The couple welcomed their daughter Lisa in February 1989. Together, the family created many beautiful memories including fishing trips, picnics and summer vacations around the state.

Clune is proceeded in death by her mother Jackie Best, father William “Bill” Best and sisters Connie and Karen Best.

Clune is survived by her husband Kenneth Clune (Leadville), daughter Lisa Clune (Fort Collins), brother-in-law David Clune (Denver) and many special friends.

A funeral mass will take place May 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Leadville. The mass will be followed by a graveside burial within the Elks Lodge section of the Evergreen Cemetery. A reception will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge located at 123 W. 5th St., Leadville.
