Since announcing Battle for the Ballot a few weeks ago, the Herald has been fielding questions from the public for this year’s candidates. But a handful of community members were also wondering how the event itself would operate.

If you haven’t already heard, Battle for the Ballot is a public event and debate featuring candidates in three races for this year’s local election, including Lake County assessor, clerk and recorder and sheriff. The Herald hosted a similar event in 2018, and we’re excited to spark some more civic engagement this year.
