We live in a global health setting where communicable

diseases can spread very rapidly throughout the world. We have seen that with COVID-19, which is still in our community, and now monkeypox. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is tracking an outbreak of monkeypox that has spread across several countries that don’t normally report monkeypox, including the United States. The Lake County Public Health Agency is closely monitoring the situation and working with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and local providers. Lake County does not have any cases of monkeypox currently.
