Last Thursday, the Lake County Middle School cross-country team competed in the Peaks League Championship at Homestake Peak School of Eagle. The Lake County girls team placed third overall, led by Chloe King in 13th place with a time of 13 minutes and 27 seconds. King was followed by Aimee Lenhard in 20th place with a time of 14:57, and Finnley Stanek in 22nd place with a time of 15:10. A strong pack of runners came in next, including Layla Horning in 27th place with a time of 15:52, Lyza Zoller in 28th place with a time of 16:19 and Tilly Kirr in 29th place with a time of 16:26. Rounding out the girls team were Faith Pongrekun in 41st with a time of 22:25 and Evelyn Talbot in 43rd with a time of 23:26.

The Lake County boys team placed sixth overall, led by Jude Peters in 15th place with a time of 13:13. Ben Woodcock raced to 24th place with a time of 13:43, followed closely by Noah Millard in 28th place with a time of 14:09. Rounding out the boys team were Wilson Anderson in 31st with a time of 14:17 and Itai Sheleg in 38th with a time of 15:15.
