The Lake County High School girls basketball team played two tournament games over the weekend, bagging a win and a loss to mark the beginning of the team’s season.

On Friday, Dec. 3, the Panthers played Battle Mountain High School of Edwards and lost the game by a score of 50-35. Although Lake County’s team ended the first quarter only two points behind, Battle Mountain High School secured their victory in the second and third quarters.

On Saturday, Dec. 4, the Panthers played Vail Christian High School and won the game by a score of 34-17. Lake County’s team dominated the low-scoring game with more points in each quarter than their opponents.

The Panthers will play two games this week. On Wednesday, Dec. 8, the team played Custer County High School of Westcliffe. On Saturday, Dec. 11, Lake County’s team will play Sargent High School of Monte Vista. The team is not scheduled to play a home game until mid-January.
