The Lake County High School boys basketball team began their season over the weekend with a non-league tournament.

On Friday, Dec. 3, the Panthers played Vail Mountain High School and lost by a score of 45-33. Lake County’s team was outscored nearly every quarter, except for the third, when both teams tallied 10 points.

On Saturday, Dec. 4, the Panthers earned their first win of the season against Clear Creek High School of Evergreen. The game ended in overtime with a score of 51-48. The equally matched teams volleyed control of each quarter until the Panthers won in overtime.

The Panthers will play two upcoming games this week. On Wednesday, Dec. 8, the team played a non-league  game against Custer County High School of Westcliffe. On Saturday, Dec. 11, the Panthers will play Sargent High School of Monte Vista in a another non-league game. The team is not scheduled to play a home game until mid-January.
